According to the victim's statement, a Meitei boy lives next to her in a rented room. On the night of the incident, he had invited some Meitei friends over for a party. When they arrived, they noticed the victim and asked her if she could lent them her charger.

Later that night, due to heavy rain, there was power cut. The victim went next door to ask for her charger back and land the boys invited her for a meal as a gesture of thanks. They reassured her that their girlfriends would also be joining them, which made her feel comfortable so, she agreed, telling them to knock on her door when the girls arrived.

Suddenly, one of the Meitei boys grabbed her hand &amp; forcibly pulled her outside and locked the door, confining the others while isolating her. Aware that CCTV cameras were installed on their floor, she struggled to move into the camera's view, which indeed captured footage of the incident. Outside, the boy proposed to her, which she firmly refused. Despite his persistence, the others inside demanded that he unlock the door, which forced him to release her. The victim, disturbed and uncomfortable, told him she was going back to her room.

Later, the boys approached her again to apologize fervently and she eventually forgave them. Afterwards, the boys and their girlfriends went up to the roof and drank. After dinner, the victim returned to her room. One of the girls followed her there and soon after, two boys forced their way inside, claiming that the landlord had arrived and they needed to hide for some time. Frightened, she reluctantly agreed and told them they could wait for a while.

While the boys were inside, the victim took a sleeping pill she occasionally used for sleep. They noticed this and soon after, the boys assured her she could sleep while they wait in her living room. So, she went to her bedroom, locked her door and tried to rest.

Later, She was awoken by severe pain and discovered she was bleeding and one of the Meitei boys was lying on top of her, naked, attempting to record a video. When he realized she had regained consciousness, he fled. She then noticed that the lock on her door had been broken from the inside.

Terrified, she immediately called her brother for help. When her brother confronted the boy, asking if he had done anything to his sister. The boy confessed and in desperation, pleaded with them not to go to the police, claiming that his family was poor, his father was suffering from cancer and that they would compensate her financially.

Initially, the victim believed only this boy had r@ped her.

However, after reporting the matter to the police and upon investigation of the suspects' phones, shocking evidence was uncovered, it was not just one boy, but all five of them had r@ped her. The phone records and videos revealed that they had taken turns r@ping her while recording the whole incident on their phones. The police confirmed the crime with valid proof and arrested them.

I have mixed feelings about it, not in a bad way or to justify anything. I feel really sad that the girl will have to live with what happened, and she's not even a full on adult, which is even more f\*ked up to me, it must be extremely traumatizing to go through that, and it's a disgusting thing for anyone to do, I wish she can heal from what happened, and we can decrease/eliminate this from happening, no one deserves to suffer from this.  
  
I also feel really good about these guys finding out about it, and setting consequence for it, it's nice to see them care so much about it, and seomthing about how they went about it is very interesting as well, while they are angry clearly and obviously, it's also as if they are quite literally trying to teach these guys a lesson and make them understand, not just being violent out of pure anger, but also there's feelings of betrayal from the main guy ni the video. I hope these guys get jailed or smth, we don't need people like this on the streets.

A fifth-semester Tripuri student accused five minor Manipuri students of rape. Within hours, the story went viral, amplified by several Kuki-affiliated pages, including Watch Point Journal, which falsely claimed that the lady was a minor and had been forced was just a fake story.

This narrative did not arise incidentally. The past two to three years have seen heightened tensions between the Kuki and Meitei communities in Manipur. In such an environment, even personal disputes can quickly be weaponized. By labeling these Manipuri students as rapists, certain pages propagated misinformation that went beyond individuals-it aimed to defame an entire community. Reports suggest that some Meitei organizations, including Meitei Heritage Societies, allegedly supported this narrative. Sources claim these organizations, run by pseudo-feminists and reportedly backed with funds from Kuki groups, helped amplify the accusations and spread propaganda.

The facts, however, present a starkly different picture. The lady was born in 2003 and was a fifth-semester student, not a minor. There is no evidence of her being drugged but rather having alcohol consentually and they were high. Police reports confirm that three of the accused minors were completely innocent, while two remain in detention. Importantly, no proof exists of rape or even non-consensual sexual activity. Despite this, the identities and images of the accused have circulated widely online, causing irreparable damage to their

reputations.

An independent investigation by the All India Men's Rights Union of Northeast, along with briefings of students at Assam Down Town University, revealed further disturbing details. One of the boys had consensual sexual relations with the lady. The following day, she allegedly demanded fifty thousand rupees. When the payment could not be made, she reportedly enlisted friends-posing as her brothers-to pressure ure the boys. When that attempt failed, she approached the police with a rape allegation.

Further investigation and interviews with students revealed a broader pattern: the lady was reportedly involved with multiple male students in sexual encounters in exchange for money. These revelations raise serious concerns about the motivations behind her accusations and the manipulation of the incident for personal gain.

Several aspects of the case remain troubling. If the alleged assault had truly occurred, why was the complaint delayed by three days? Videos circulating online show the lady walking freely, showing no visible signs of trauma. She even claimed to have "mercy" for her alleged rapist-an unusual claim inconsistent with typical patterns observed among genuine victims.

Attempts by the accused to provide evidence, such as CCTV footage seen on the viral video, were reportedly ignored. Additionally, the language barrier and inexperience of these first-semester student as they come from a non Hindi Speaking state made them vulnerable to exploitation and public outrage. While society must remain vigilant against sexual assault and ensure justice for genuine victims, this case highlights the devastating consequences of false allegations. False claims not only destroy the lives of innocent men but also weaken the broader fight for justice for real victims.
